Salvete, Amici!

My name is Tehila Okonoboh, and I'm running to be your next FJCL Vice President. With four years of JCL leadership experience - including serving as a Regional Leader - I've seen firsthand the impact that a strong leadership has on our community. Now, I want to take the FJCL Above & Beyond!

For the Above part, I'll strengthen what already works. I'll create recruitment resources to help clubs grow and a mentorship system to connect new schools with experienced ones. A service spotlight would showcase clubs making a difference in our communities, inspiring JCLers across Florida.

As for the Beyond part, I'll launch bold, new ideas. A spirit guide will help every chapter master spirit with tips, traditions, and strategies, while and annual FJCL Day of Service unites us all in one massive statewide volunteer effort.

But this is just the beginning, there's so much more we can achieve together. Let's go Above & Beyond!

Above & Beyond

Above: I want to improve on what the JCL already has and does great. I want to take the next step into making us even better.

Beyond: I also want to integrate totally new ideas to bring a fresh perspective to the organization.

Examples:

Above: A service spotlight (similar to photo of the month, but for the monthly service projects), and recruitment resources (e.g. fliers, emails, etc.)

Beyond: A mentorship system through regional leaders, a big bang of service (basically a coordinated day where clubs across the state go and volunteer), and a spirit guide.

Recruitment & Membership

We want to boost membership, and by providing recruitment resources, we can foster the growth of new clubs. With those new clubs, the mentorship system comes in. We take new clubs, and we put them in contact with more experienced clubs so that they have a helping hand as they are starting to grow.

Spirit

An FJCL spirit guidebook would allow spirit to become more accessible, especially because spirit can become overwhelming when you don't know where to start. For example, we will provide cheers that Florida uses at nationals in order to inspire local cheers and get their creative juices flowing.

Service

The Service Spotlight will both encourage people to get involved with the service projects and inspire them to become engaged with the service so that their efforts can be recognized.
